Volunteer recruitment process

This will support you with what to expect during the volunteer recruitment process.

Week one

The volunteer sends in an application form and identification documents, which are then sent off for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

Week one to two

Voluntary services will start the DBS process and contact your referees.

The volunteer must send a parental consent form if the applicant is under 18 years old.

Week two to four

DBS processing continues.

Volunteer to complete training and receive information pack.

You will meet the voluntary service team online, as well as a face-to-face meet and greet with the service.

Week five to six

The voluntary service team will  confirm all checks are complete.

A start date and induction is then organised with the volunteer.
