Volunteering

Giving a little of your time can make a huge difference to our patients. You can gain new skills, meet new people and improve the wellbeing of yourself, our staff and patients.

Volunteer opportunities update

Our volunteer opportunities are currently closed.

Volunteer recruitment will reopen on Monday, 17 August 2026. Please revisit this page on or after this date if you wish to apply.

We thank all those who have expressed an interest in volunteering with KCHFT. Your support is highly valued, and we look forward to welcoming new volunteers in due course.

If you have any questions, please contact the team.

Volunteer with us

We value the contributions from our volunteers and what they give back to the community. If you would like to volunteer and can commit to a minimum of six months, where possible, then please get in touch using the details on this page.

When we have vacancies, they are advertised here, so please take a look and contact us if you are interested. Our team will support you through the application process – you can find out more about this in the volunteer expectations and application process section.

If you want to volunteer with us, our recruitment process will support you with what to expect?

Become a member of our People's Network

We also have opportunities for you to volunteer as a member of our People’s Network. We have a team dedicated to recruiting and supporting patients and carers to work directly with our services to co-design, develop and improve the work we do. Watch our participation video and find out more about how you can get involved with patient engagement on our how can you get involved page.

Join forces with our Quality and Governance Team

Our Adults Quality and Governance Team is at the heart of ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for every patient. We work tirelessly behind the scenes to uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence, compliance, and accountability within all of our services.

From monitoring performance and managing risk to driving continuous improvement, our team ensures that quality isn’t just a goal — it’s a culture embedded in everything we do.

Our focus is to empower staff across the trust to deliver care with confidence, knowing that robust systems and governance frameworks are in place. We champion patient safety, support innovation, and provide guidance that helps services meet regulatory requirements while exceeding expectations. By collaborating with clinical teams, leadership, and external partners, we make sure that every decision is informed, transparent, and focused on improving outcomes for the communities we serve.

The team work closely with the services that provide care to our adult patients, the Community Engagement Group, is a collaborative forum that brings together representatives from these services and anyone who is interested in improving health care. The group is for all community members – (you do not need to be a patient) all are welcome, families, carers, volunteers,  patients and even staff. It’s an open invitation to share ideas, raise concerns, give feedback, assist with reviewing new guidance, leaflets, and take part in team projects, etc, as well developing our own group project. Giving everyone the opportunity to help shape the future of community care.

Everyone is welcome — because you matter.
