Ward visiting hours: 3 to 5pm and 7 to 8pm
MIU: 8am to 8pm, every day of the year

Please note the entrance to the MIU has temporarily moved, please look for signs as you enter the hospital.

X-ray: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (closed 1 to 1.30pm and bank holidays).
Phlebotomy: Monday to Friday, 7am to 2.30pm.

Who we are

The team consists of registered nurses, rehabilitation assistants, health care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a care manager, visiting medical officer and medical consultants.

What we do

We run the 26-bed Elizabeth Ward which provides intermediate care, palliative care and continuing care. The ward has protected meal times for patients, so visitors are encouraged to avoid visiting during these.

There is also a minor injury unit, an x-ray department and appointment-only blood tests in the phlebotomy department.

Outpatient services, run by East Kent Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (EKHFTs) moved to Buckland hospital in 2015. However, there are some services running from Deal hospital including EKHFT’s Rheumatology Consultant Service, twice weekly, an ENT clinic run by a local GP and other voluntary services.

There are also outpatient consultations with visiting consultants in all major specialities, such as child heath, dental services, therapy and rehabilitation services plus other out-of-hours services. IC24 runs a GP out-of-hours services in the mornings, at weekends and bank holidays.

How do you use this service?

You need to be referred by a GP or healthcare professional for inpatient and outpatients services. You can self-refer to the minor injury unit.

Parking and facilities at the hospital

Free parking is available at the hospital for visitors.

There is a vending machine and League of Friends shop in the hospital.
