Who we are
We are a team of volunteer facilitators who run a free, six-week course – called the Expert Patients Programme – to help you regain your confidence and take control of your health.
What we do
If you’re living with a long-term condition, we know exactly how you feel. Managing a long-term condition doesn‘t have to be hard. Our Expert Patients Programme can help you to regain your independence, manage everyday situations and boost your mental health and wellbeing.
We aim to help you to take more control of your health by learning new skills to manage your condition. Our course covers:
- dealing with pain and tiredness
- coping with feelings of depression, stress and anxiety
- relaxation techniques and exercise
- healthy eating
- communicating with family, friends and healthcare professionals
- planning for the future.
When it comes to your life; you really are the expert.
How do you use this service?
You can contact the service direct using the information given above or you can use the online booking form on the right-hand side of this page or you can be referred by a GP or healthcare professional.
Managing your long-term condition doesn’t have to be hard. The Expert Patients Programme, a free six-week course run by people like you, can help you to regain your independence, manage everyday situations and boost your mental and emotional wellbeing.
