Equipment

Equipment provision

If your child is provided with therapeutic equipment your child’s physiotherapist will check the fit and suitability of it, at least every 6 months.  However, if you have concerns about therapeutic equipment at any time, please cease using it and notify your physiotherapist as soon as possible.

All equipment that is prescribed by the Service is managed by NRS.  If you have any concerns about the delivery or collection of a piece of equipment, or the equipment is faulty, please contact NRS.

Wheelchairs are provided by Millbrook Healthcare.  Please contact them if you have any concerns about your child’s wheelchair.

Sleep systems

What is a sleep system?

A sleep system will support your child and help keep them in a good position at night. It consists of a special mattress and may have padded brackets or cushions that are held securely in place and can be easily adjusted to suit your child's needs.

Why does my child need a sleep system?

Sleep systems are used for children and young people who tend to lie with their legs and hips in a fixed position all night. Over time this can lead to joint and muscle stiffness, which can cause pain. Using a sleep system will help your child sleep comfortably in a good position.
