Visiting times

We offer open visiting hours whilst protecting meal times (unless supporting a patient with feeding) of 12.15 to 1pm and 4.45 to 5.30pm.

If a patient has too many visitors at one time you may be asked to wait to avoid your loved one getting too tired and to protect the privacy of other patients.

Children are permitted to visit.

Please do not visit the hospital if you are unwell. You may be asked to wear a mask. Please sanitise your hands before entering the ward and when you leave.

Welcome to Hawkhurst Community Hospital

We are a 22 bed in-patient unit providing an enabling service. Our patients are usually referred by the acute sector following treatment for a recent event or surgery. Our aim is to enable you to recover as much independence as possible prior to returning home.

Getting up and dressed each day will play a key part in your recovery, so please make sure you have day clothes and suitable shoes with you along with any items you may need for your personal care. During your stay we hope you will also be able to enjoy some of our activities which will help your recovery, progress and well-being.

The multidisciplinary team will work together with you, your family and carers to make sure all support is in place prior to your discharge from us.

We would encourage and welcome your family, friends and carers to visit you while you are with us.

On admission you and your family will be provided with more detailed information about your care and staff will be available to discuss any queries you may have during your stay with us.

The team takes pride in delivering high quality care for our patients. We are always happy to receive feedback about your experience at Hawkhurst.

Parking and facilities at the hospital

Free car parking.

There is no on-site restaurant, however visitors can order a meal from the main kitchen if they would like to dine with a patient. Please speak to a member of the ward team.

No vending machine available but some refreshments and personal toiletries can be purchased on site, courtesy of the League of Friends.
