Six people newly elected to our Council of Governors

Members of Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) have elected six new public governors to represent their communities and help shape the future of local NHS community services.

Public governors are volunteers who represent the views of KCHFT members and their community. They play an important role in holding the Board to account and making sure community voices help influence how services are developed and delivered.

Following the close of voting on Monday, 9 March, members have elected governors in six constituencies.

The newly elected public governors are:

  • Canterbury: Ivan Olbrechts

  • Folkestone and Hythe: Caroline Osabinyi

  • Gravesham: Pirthipal Kang (uncontested)
  • Swale: Jide Odumade

  • Thanet: Dee Davies

  • Tunbridge Wells: Sophie Fenlon

Public Governors work alongside staff and appointed governors on the Council of Governors, helping to make sure local people’s views are heard.

Thank you to everyone who stood for election and to all members who took part in the vote.

KCHFT Chair John Goulston said: “After a successful election, we welcome our new governors, who bring with them a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. We look forward to working together and encourage them to challenge how we do things on behalf of their community to help make their local NHS services the best they can be."
