What we do
The Improving Immunisation Uptake Team works in partnership with general practices across Kent and Medway to help increase vaccination rates among pre-school aged children. We welcome referrals from practices and offer tailored support to improve uptake of routine childhood immunisations. Our team focuses on:
- Using immunisation data to identify practices with the most incomplete vaccinations.
- Providing monthly reports and trackers to help practices follow up with children who have missed or incomplete immunisations.
- Sharing progress and outcomes with practices and commissioners.
- Identifying issues like “ghost patients,” incorrect coding, and data transfer problems that affect reported uptake.
- Supporting practices to review and improve their immunisation processes.
General practices deliver the national childhood immunisation programme. For more information on the vaccines offered and why they’re important, visit NHS vaccinations and when to have them and Why vaccination is important and the safest way to protect yourself.
