Going to the dentist
This resource has been developed by clinicians to help autistic or anxious children prepare for visits to Appleby Dental Clinic.
What is a dentist?
A dentist helps look after my teeth.
What will happen when I arrive?
I will walk through the entrance doors of Appleby Dental Clinic.
Welcome.

I can go to the reception and say my name.

I can sit and wait in the waiting room.

The dentist will say "hello".

I can sit on the blue dental chair.

I can open my mouth and the dentist will look at my teeth.
The dentist will use a small mirror to look at my teeth.

I will get a sticker. The dentist will say goodbye and I can go home.
