Parents invited to share experiences of supporting adolescents with ADHD

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) is inviting parents of adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to take part in an important research study.

The study, led by Gill Middleditch, Advanced Clinical Practitioner at KCHFT, aims to explore how young people aged 12 to 18 understand and manage their ADHD. It will also look at how families experience accessing health services.

Funded by the Applied Research Collaboration Kent Surrey and Sussex, the research seeks to improve services and support for young people and their families living with ADHD.

Parents taking part will be invited to a one-off online interview lasting up to 30 minutes with the research team, sharing their experiences of their teenager’s ADHD and engagement with healthcare services.

The study started in January this year and will conclude on Tuesday, 27 February 2026.

If you are a parent of a teenager with ADHD and would like to take part or find out more, please email Kentchft.cpresources@nhs.net to register your interest.

This study was awarded funding by the Applied Research Collaboration Kent Surrey and Sussex.
