A big welcome to our international nurses

Yɛma wo akwaaba and barka da zuwa – or, welcome, to the latest cohort of qualified international nurses who will be joining our community teams across Kent very soon. Our group joined us in June and have been busy over the last few weeks revising for their practical exam, which will allow them to get their UK nursing registration and start to visit patients as district nurses, community nurses and specialist public health nurses.

Praise Samson and Ibidunni Agbadaola

Qualified nurse Praise Samson will be joining the Herne Bay Acute Response Team, along with her colleague Ibidunni Agbadaola, once they pass their exams. Praise said: “I have loved the experience so far and I’m looking forward to meeting my team, having fun but developing my professional skills at the same time.”

Abdul-Rahmani Isaka, will be joining the Herne Bay Community Nursing Team. He said: “I’m looking forward to doing the training, passing my exam and then serving the community in Herne Bay.”

Peter Ayodele is an experienced nurse and will be joining the Thanet Long Term Services Team in Ramsgate, while aiming to complete a doctorate in epidemiology. Peter’s new colleague is Community Nurse Sasha Lewis, who was just one of the team members who took time to meet the new recruits at a special welcome party for the new starters in Canterbury. Sasha said: “The nurses I have met are all highly qualified and it feels really positive that they are here, it’s going to be good learning from them too.”
