Free webinar to help people plan for the future and understand their rights
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) is teaming up with Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust to offer a free webinar designed to help people make informed decisions about their care, rights and future planning.
Taking place from 6 to 7pm on Wednesday, 19 November, the session 'Future-proofing your care: Your voice, your wishes, your choices, your rights' will explore mental capacity and consent, making a lasting power of attorney and end of life care.
The webinar is open to everyone, whether you’re thinking about your own care, supporting a relative, or simply want to understand more about how key decisions are made.
Annette Martin, Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults at KCHFT, said: “Planning ahead and understanding your rights can make a real difference – not just for you, but for the people you love. This session is about helping people feel confident to make choices and have their voices heard.”
The webinar will feature insights from health and safeguarding professionals, including:
• Annette Martin, Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults, KCHFT
• Heather Harrison, Nurse Consultant for End of Life Care, KCHFT
• Ngozi Okeke, Mental Capacity Act Specialist Nurse, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
Attendees will have the chance to hear directly from experts, explore real-life examples and ask questions in a supportive environment.
The event is being held as part of National Adults Safeguarding Awareness Week, a campaign which aims to help people feel safe, supported and empowered to make confident choices about their care and wellbeing.
