Cued Articulation is a system of simple hand cues and colour coding which represent the sounds of the English language. It has been developed to assist those who have difficulty producing, remembering and sequencing sounds. It has also assisted the normal development of language, reading and spelling skills. It facilitates the development of sound awareness – basic to acquisition of literacy.

Target audience: For families and settings within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust’s catchment area. Parents and carers with a child on the Children’s Therapies SLT speech caseload (please contact your speech therapist/local clinic to book a free place) and school, nursery, early years settings and other relevant professionals within KCHFT.

Please note that you will need your cameras on throughout the course – the more engaged you are the more you will get out of the course.

Certificates will be provided on completion of the course and active participation. Unfortunately, we are not able to refund or rebook should you not be able to attend on the day due to demand for the course.

I found the course to be extremely informative and enjoyable.  The trainer was extremely approachable and I felt able to discuss any concerns I had.  An amazing training session with an amazing trainer. I certainly have lots to think about.

Very interesting course, made really think about how much we take for granted with being able to speak.

I have learnt lots and lots and am feeling more confident with providing information to parents and carers.

We will be using Cued Articulation in our setting to support the children who we feel may later on need speech and language therapy.

Colour coding is very useful.  It helps to think how we pronounce the words and will support the child with discrimination and their understanding.
