Start your career with us

The NHS is changing. More emphasis on community-based care means there’s never been a better time to join us.

“My colleagues said: ‘why do you want to be a community nurse?’. I said: ‘I want to give more time to my patients. I want to do a varied job, I don’t want to be on the same ward every day. I like planning my day the way I want’.”

What’s different about working in the community?

We care for patients in their own homes and in community settings across Kent, parts of Sussex and London. We support patients to leave hospital, stay out of hospital, and live a happy and healthy life at home - for as long as possible. Our work is practitioner-led and therapy-focused.

We treat the whole person, not just the condition

Our community teams travel the length and breadth of Kent, parts of east Sussex and London to deliver more than 70 different NHS services to children and adults in need.

Our community hospitals across Kent provide step-down care and rehabilitation for people recovering from illness, accidents or operations.

What our colleagues say:

“Being part of the staff disability and carers’ network has helped me accept my disabilities and learn to get the best from myself. Being able to share my experiences with others who are non-judgemental in a safe space has given me the confidence to approach and resolve adjustments and understanding of my condition, my limitations and my strengths at work. It has also helped me to support others going through similar struggles.” Tracy.
