Alison Phelan is a district nurse, who experience a 12-week placement with mental health services. She said: “This placement has shown me the importance of caring for both physical and mental health. I’ve built useful connections with mental health services that will help me in my role. I want to take everything I’ve learned and share it with colleagues, to create a culture of holistic care.
“As community nurses, we’re not just there for the body, we’re there for the whole person and that’s a privilege I don’t take for granted.”
