We are a team of health professionals that includes nurses, health care assistants, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy technicians, speech and language therapists and dieticians.
What we do
We deliver a health and therapy service to students who attend Valence School. Valence is a Kent County Council-run school that supports children and young people aged from five to 19 with multiple physical disabilities and complex medical needs offering day and weekly boarding places.
Valence school helps children and young people, who have special physical medical and sensory needs, to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding together with the necessary confidence, self-esteem and self-dependence necessary for them to participate in and contribute to society in the way each chooses.
The health team consists of nurses, healthcare assistants, occupational therapists and assistants, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists who work in Valence school and, jointly with the wider education and social care teams, to support the complex medical and therapy needs of the students.
How do you use our service?
Admission for a place at the school is through Kent County Council (01732 525000).
The health and social care team is onsite at Valence School. Phone the school for more details on 01959 562156 or you can find more information here.
