Talking therapies for dental patients

We run a CHATTS team (Child and Adult Talking Therapies Team) for patients who find going to the dentist difficult.

It may be due to an underlying fear or phobia.  In dentistry we have many way to alleviate fears including having the time to talk to you about the problem and we can sometimes offer sedation to reduce your fears.  However for some patients managing the fears and phobias by talking therapy can mean that in the future you will not need to access a specialised service offering sedation but manage you fears and phobias after completing therapy with us and access mainstream care.

You can be referred to the CHATTS team via one of our Special care dentists which means you have to meet our referral criteria but the therapy is free or you access the CHATTS team directly yourself and have a course of therapy which is paid for by yourself.

You can access directly the service through the CHATTS counselling product and pay online.
