Help reduce health inequalities in your community

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust has launched the healthy communities steering group as part of our commitment towards reducing health inequalities.

What?

The steering group will be a platform to feedback and share lived experiences of health inequalities and barriers experienced by migrant communities and ethnic minorities across Kent. The group will look at how to address the issues, whilst also acting as a consulting group on trust initiatives and projects to enhance equality and inclusion.

Why?

KCHFT is proud to represent an incredibly diverse population, and the healthy communities steering group aims to better understand our communities, reduce health inequalities, and ensure our community's voices are heard.

Who?

Membership is open to all from migrant communities and ethnic minority groups, as well as those who have worked with these communities and have an understanding of inequalities and barriers experienced. Patients, members of the public and colleagues are welcome.

When?

An invite and agenda will be sent to members prior to the meeting. The group will meet every two months.

How?

Joining the steering group is quick, easy, and your valuable contribution will help us understand and tackle health inequalities. If you would like to take part and contribute, attend meetings and receive updates, please return your completed membership form to kentchft.equality@nhs.net.

To request the terms of reference, membership form or for any other enquiries, please email kentchft.equality@nhs.net.

Come along, make your community’s voice heard and help explore and reduce health inequalities across Kent.
