Understanding and facilitating groups

About this course
2 days (9.30am – 4.30pm)
This course provides participants with the knowledge and understanding of group dynamics and their own role within a group. Long-term evaluation of this course has shown that it increases participant’s confidence about being a group member or a group leader. It also identifies the principles that enable facilitation enhancing participants own understanding of their facilitation style and allows time to practice their skills in a safe environment. This course supports the principles of transformational practice development and as such is collaborative, inclusive and highly participative.
The course is for anyone who, as part of their role, is a group leader, trainer or member of a group, needs to understand group dynamics and who as part of their work facilitates leads and/or chairs groups.
Please note: KCHFT staff with a management role should access the communication modules of the Leadership and Management programme from their Learning and Development Department instead.
The aim of this course is to increase participants’ understanding of group processes and develop their confidence and ability in facilitating a group.
