New role for matron Keith

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust extends a warm welcome to Keith Ansted who has taken on the role of matron at the Whitstable and Tankerton Hospital.

Keith, 45, qualified as a nurse in 2000 and became a specialist district nurse in 2013. He joined us in March 2021 from Central Surrey Health, where he was a district nurse team leader. Keith said: “I started looking for roles in Kent as I had moved to Dover to live with my partner. I saw this role and checked out the KCHFT website, which gave me a good feel for the trust; it all looked very professional and people seemed to be happy working here. I was very impressed with the recruitment process too, I had regular emails from the team letting me know about the progress of my application and it kept me really focused on the role.”

Since arriving at the Whit and Tank Keith has experienced first-hand how the team exemplify our values in their work: “Colleagues here have been so supportive, friendly and really, just kind. They have made it so easy for me to adjust to my new role. I’ve been very impressed at how all the different professionals in the team work together to support our patients; everyone has such high standards and are rightly very proud of what we achieve here. Everyone works together here, it’s like one big family.”
