The programme is to include:

  • Thursday, 13 June  — rural and coastal
  • Friday, 14 June — abstract presentations and awards.

Charlotte Marlow, Clinical Research Practitioner at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Health research is important as it can help us in so many ways, from improving patient care and making sure the treatments we give are effective, to improving the quality of life for people with illness, as well as preventing disease and reducing the number of people who become ill.

“Our trust is a research active organisation, where we are committed to offering patients in our communities the chance to take part in research studies which are appropriate for them. We do this by bringing national trials to our patients and by working with academic university colleagues to produce research projects initiated by our own clinical staff. Evidence suggests that people who receive care in research active institutions have better health outcomes.”
