Hydrotherapy support volunteer at Sevenoaks Community Hospital

Hydrotherapy support volunteer for our Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Services at Sevenoaks Community Hospital, Hospital Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 3PG.

On Wednesdays from 9am to 12.30.

Duties include:

  • Providing refreshments to patients as required
  • Assisting therapy staff in the running of self-management hydrotherapy sessions
  • Setting up equipment for classes and assisting with group activities
  • Tidying of stock cupboard and doing stock checks
  • Tidying and restocking of leaflets in patient waiting area (weekly)
  • General departmental tidying.

Admin role with our Intermediate Care Team based at Victoria Hospital, Deal

The role would be to complete patient satisfaction survey (Meridian survey) using i-pad with patients currently on the teams clinical caseload.  This will mainly be by telephone contact but will require some face to face contact with patients in our Intermediate Care beds.  You could also be required to help with general admin and filing for the team.

New opportunities for a volunteer’s to meet and greet the parents/carers bringing children to the baby clinics

Site’s which require volunteers are:

  • Southborough Children’s Centre, Broomhill Park Road, Tunbridge Wells, TN4 0JY
    Clinic times: weekly on a Tuesday from 9.30 to 11.30am
  • Little Forest Children’s Centre, Friars Way, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 3UA
    Clinic times: weekly on a Wednesday from 9 to 11am
  • The Ark Children’s Centre, Broadwater Lane, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 5RP
    Clinic times: weekly on a Thursday from 9.30 to 11.15am
  • Woodlands Health Centre, Allington Rd, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, TN12 6AX
    Clinic times:  weekly on a Wednesday from 9.15 to 11.15am

Volunteers would need to be competent in accurately recording their attendance on a paper form and therefore would need a good level of literacy.  There would be no phone or computer work expected of them.

A helpful and friendly manner is needed as they would be expected to encourage clients to complete a paper evaluation of service form.

The post is long term although term time only would be considered.  Clinics run continuously throughout the year, apart from Bank Holidays, Polling Days or any other unforeseen event that would result in the closure of the clinic.

Mealtime volunteers (Kent-wide opportunities)

Across our eight community hospitals in Deal, Edenbridge, Faversham, Hawkhurst, Herne Bay, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Whitstable & Tankerton we are asking volunteers to help our patients at mealtimes from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Mealtime volunteers can play an important role in encouraging patients to eat and drink, offering companionship to patients and spotting ways to make mealtimes easier and comfortable for patients, i.e. cutting up food, opening up packets.

The role will include assisting patients with menus and menu choices, give out meals and assist with refreshments and sit with patients whilst eating and encouragement with food and drink.

Meet and greet volunteer at Podiatry Department, Vicarage Lane, Ashford, TN23 1NJ

We need someone for two hours per session on a Tuesday and Thursday am or pm. The volunteer will need to meet and greet clients and their carers/relatives when they attend the clinic for their appointment.

Meet and greet volunteer at Reception, Coxheath Centre, Coxheath, Maidstone, ME17 4AH

To provide a positive meet and greet facility for clients and their carers/relatives when attending a clinic appointment at the centre. To oversee the patient satisfaction survey following the clinic appointment using an iPad or advising the patient as to other forms of accessing this (provide cards to identify online access or complete on paper with the client).

Admin volunteer role available to help with the Children’s and Young Persons Team

We have an administrative volunteer role available to help with the Children’s and Young Persons Team.  You would be based at Trinity House, Ashford, Kent TN25 4AZ but would be happy to have the volunteer located in the Coxheath or Whitstable areas.

This role would require the volunteer to assist the team by completing patient satisfaction survey’s using i-pad with patients currently on the teams clinical caseload.  This will mainly be done via the telephone, so the ability to communicate effectively at all levels , including with young people, their parents/carers and with colleagues in the Specialist Services is essential.  General admin and electronic filing for the team associated with the survey’s may be required.

Meet and greet volunteer

The volunteer would be required to sign in patients for clinic appointments, signpost patients to other clinics and facilities on site, hand out waiting cards to patients and clients.  This will be every Thursday from 10.30am to 1pm.

This will be for the Tonbridge and Malling Health Visiting Team based at Kings Hill Community Centre, Gibson Drive, Kings Hill, ME19 4LG.

Therapy admin support volunteer

The volunteer would be required to assist with general admin and clerical duties to assist the team, task to include photocopying, filing, archiving.  The volunteer will also have an opportunity to talk to patients to get the patients feedback and assist them completing a therapy feedback form.

This role is for Dover/Deal Intermediate Care Team, Victoria Hospital, London Road, Deal, CT14 9UA.

Tonbridge Health Visiting Team volunteer

We have an administrative volunteer role available to help with the Tonbridge & Malling Health Visiting Team, Larkfield Health Centre, First Floor, Martins Square, Larkfield, Aylesford ME206QJ

This role would require the volunteer to assist the team by ensuring all information leaflets at the Centre are regularly replaced, organised and updated on site.  The volunteer will liaising with team to ensure information leaflets never run out of stock.  The role will also include making up information packs and some general admin and filing for the team.  Days required would be Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, 9am to 5pm, a few times per month with hours to suit.

Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team volunteer

We have a vacancy for an admin volunteer to help assist our Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team, Outpatients Building, Sevenoaks Hospital, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 3PG.  This role will involve assisting with general clerical and admin work where necessary for the team, sending out letters to patients, Filing, archiving and photocopying and moving files to and from areas.

Community Nursing team volunteer

Our Community Nursing team based at Trinity House, Ashford TN25 4AZ require a volunteer to assist with notes , photocopying, scanning, archiving support and  help with telephone calls.  Hours and days are flexible between Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

Outpatients department volunteer at Gravesham Community Hospital

Our busy outpatients department at Gravesham Community Hospital, Gravesend DA11 0DG require a meet and greet volunteer on a Monday morning from 9am to 12pm.  The role of the volunteer would be to support various different departments assisting on the Reception desk, meet and greet patients ensuring they are waiting in the correct area.

Distribution of hearing aid batteries and directing patients and clients to correct departments and waiting areas.
