Let’s discuss dementia

An event called let’s discuss dementia takes place in Canterbury next month.

It will bring together various organisations which support people who have dementia and has been organised by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust.

It is open to all and places are still available. The venue is Westgate Hall, Westgate Hall Road, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2BT with the event on Saturday, 9 March, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Those attending will be able to chat to people from a range of services, including professionals from voluntary and community organisations.

There will be the chance to find out more about the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends programme during a presentation by a Dementia Friends champion. Dementia Friends is an initiative to change people’s perception of dementia.

Participants will hear first-hand from someone living with dementia as they talk about their experience, there will be a question and answer session and the chance to meet local healthcare trust governors.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided by students from the award winning dementia cafe The Oasis Academy, which is on the Isle of Sheppey.
